Born in 1990, Carola Ducoli graduated in Applied Art and Scenography from Istiututo Statale d’Arte di Chiavari, in 2009. The passion for painting led her to discover her love for photography. She graduated from Istituto Italiano di Fotografia di Milano with full marks. She is a well-rounded photographer and her work spans form Fashion, Still Life, Beauty, Reportage wedding to Events, Portrait, Nude, Corporate and Architecture. Thanks to her personal research, she took part in several solo and collective exhibitions. She was awarded the 5th edition of Premio Nocivelli, Young section and she won the first prize at the Biennale Giovani Monza 2015. On top of her professional work as a photographer, she also engages with different techniques and contaminations borrowed from the arts to produce solo works, photography installations, paintings and sculptures. Bearing in mind Kandinsky’s theory of the use of colours, Carola Ducoli’s shots tell stories of surfaces and shades, where space, body and sound mix in poetic colours vibrations. Purple is unstable and difficult. It arouses doubts and ambiguity. Its presence in the intermediate belt between red and blue makes it difficult to manage. It is comparable to the English horn and the bassoon.
