Livio Moiana was born in 1969 in Como (Italy). He has been working from 25 years as advertising photographer and portraitist.
He studied photography in Milan, at IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) where he graduated in 1991. Straight after the graduation, Livio started working as a freelance professional.
In 1993 he moved to Miami, USA. After working for Mickey Rourke, Livio chooses to widen his work to portrait and show sectors.
Thanks to the help of Claudio Cecchetto, he became the official photographer of Radio Capital in Italy.
In the following years he worked for known brands such as Nestlè, Mediaset, Radio Deejay, Il Sole 24 ore, Klaus Davi & co., BRW & partners, Varese Basketball team, Lombardy Region and Skechers.
In line with his natural love for professional challenge, Livio Moiana decided to dedicate himself to a number of sectors, always focusing on people and their feelings.
For the last 15 years, Livio has been dedicating himself to the creation of black and white images where the human body is the source of inspiration to create and express feelings everyone is able to understand. All his photographs are untitled and no caption is provided.
Portrayed people in Livio’s photographs don’t show their visages. The real protagonist of his collection of photographs is the human body: its lines, its twines, its contortions and the feelings human bodies try to express.
So far the series “Shapes (of freedom)” has been exhibited in Milan, London and Barcelona.
